Christopher Ryan Ball

Christopher Ryan Ball, 46, passed away on February 25, 2026. He was born on September 11, 1979.

Chris is survived by his father, Tom Ball; his mother, Debbie (Bob) Sheppard; his sister, Sarah (Joe) Cornelius; his maternal grandmother, Darlene Buckley Long (Gary);

He is also survived by his aunts and uncles: Bob (Tammy) Ball, Dan Graham, Maribeth Graham, Jody Campbell, Renee (Tim) Barton, Kevin (Diane) Buckley, and Bryce (Pam) Buckley. He leaves behind his great-aunt, Rita Ball Matthews; his nephews, Ben and Nick Cornelius; his special cousin, Michael (Angela) Ball; as well as several other cousins and extended family members. Chris also shared a special bond with his five stepbrothers and his beloved cats, Delia and Stagger Lee.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Anita Lynn Buckley Ball; his stepmother, Sharon Ball. maternal grandfather, Roger Buckley; his paternal grandparents, Eddie and Hazel Ball; and his maternal grandparents, Neal and Joan Graham.

Chris was a 1997 graduate of Southern High School. He was a huge Ohio State Buckeyes football fan and an avid golfer who especially enjoyed playing alongside his dad and the highlight of his day was beating his dad at golf, which he always did.  He will be remembered for his love of family, his passion for sports, and the many memories he created with those closest to him.

Chris will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2026 at 2:00pm at the Anderson McDaniel Funeral Home in Pomeroy.   A memorial visitation will take place two hours prior to the service (12:00-2:00pm). Burial will follow in the Mt. Herman Cemetery.
