Marilyn K. Fultz of Middleport passed away quietly on Wednesday, July 28th, 2010. She was born on November 29, 1930 to John Allen Knopp and Carrie Massie Knopp. Marilyn grew up on the lower end of Pearl Street at the Ohio River. She fell in love with John Fultz who lived on the upper end of Pearl Street near Button Hole Park. They were married in November 1950 during the "Big Blizzard" and then lived sixty happy years in a home they purchased on Pearl Street. Marilyn and her husband were active members of the Middleport Baptist Church. She sang in the choir and was a member of the Golden Rule Class. Later in life until her death, she was an active member of the Cheshire Baptist Church. For years she worked alongside her husband at the Meigs Tire Center, where the Wild Horse Cafe is currently located. She also shared many happy years with family as owner of Holly Hill Inn and The Captain's House Bed and Breakfast. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, brothers: Allen Knopp and Marcus Knopp; Sister and Brother-In-Law: Vivian Knopp Titus and Frank Titus; Brothers-In-Law: William Swisher and Harold Jones; Nephews: David Knopp and Daryl Knopp; Niece: Julia Ann Knopp; 2 Grandchildren: Heather Renee Mason and Elliot Thomas Fultz. Marilyn is survived by: Husband, John Frederick Fultz; Daughter: Anita Marie Mason of Gallipolis; Son: John Marcus Fultz and his Wife Ellen of Athens; 3 Grandchildren: Jon Michael Mason of Gallipolis, Benjamin Joshua Fultz and Danielle Kathryn Fultz of Athens; 3 Sisters: Evelyn Vogelsong of Wheelersburg, OH; Lera Jones of Pomeroy; Nola Swisher of Middleport; Many Nieces and Nephews; Her Faithful Dog, Corey. Funeral service will be held at 11:00A.M. on Saturday, July 31, 2010, at the First Baptist Church in Middleport (located at the corner of Palmer and 6th Street). Officiating will be Rev. Steve Little, pastor of the Cheshire Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Gravel Hill Cemetery in Cheshire. Friends may call on Friday, July 30, from 2:00-4:00P.M. and 6:00-8:00P.M. at Anderson McDaniel Funeral Home in Middleport.
