Helen Marlene Sayre Hill

On July 26 our mother, Helen M. Hill, 79 was set free from the Alzheimer’s Disease that has destroyed her body and mind for the past 16 years .  From Racine, Ohio, she was the only girl in a family of 5 children that were born to Cecil Leroy and Anna Neigler Sayre. Her parents as well as 3 brothers precede her in death. Brothers preceding her  in death are Gerald Sayre, Rev.Guy Sayre and Allen Sayre. She has one surviving brother, Don Sayre(Betty)Middleport.  Surviving Sisters-in-law are , Mabel Sayre,NC. and Betty Sayre,Racine. She was a member of the Syracuse Nazarene Church and served many years with the Veterans Memorial Ladies Auxiliary.

She played piano ,accordion; loved gospel music and sang in a local quartet for many years.

She is preceded in death by her husband Leo who died in 1986. They shared 37 years together.  To this union were born 5 children of whom all live locally. The oldest, Roger (Debbie) Hill lives in Letart. Their oldest   daughter, Kathy McDaniel (Luke) lives in Bashan. The next born  son , Ron Hill ( Joyce) lives near Pomeroy, their second daughter Sharon Matson lives in Syracuse.  The youngest son Richard (Wendy) lives in Syracuse.

Grandchildren are  Terri Hill, Devon  Hill, James McDaniel, Adam McDaniel, Micah Otto, Eric Hill, Toby  Meixner, , Stephanie Fogle, Daniel Otto, Zari Roush, John Matson, Jillian Bostick, Ashlee Hill, Amber Hill and Austin Hill.  Greatgrandchildren, Madison Meixner,Cade Meixner, Addie McDaniel, Colton McDaniel, Parker Hill, Bowan Matson, Adelyn Matson, Kathryn Matson, Zane Matson, Chloe Fogle, Colin Fogle, Alexis Hill, Teagan Hill, Brayden Otto,  and Bryton Otto, Makena Otto and Tysen Mills.

  

Services will be 11 am, Thursday , July 29, 2010 at Anderson-McDaniel Funeral Home in Pomeroy with the Rev. Jan Lavender and Rev. John Rozewicz officiating.  Burial will follow at Meigs Memory Gardens, Pomeroy, Ohio.  Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 28, 2010 from 6-9 at the funeral home.
